The 300 Win Mag is America’s favorite magnum hunting rifle cartridge. If you’re part of the reason why that’s so, then you’re going to love Browning’s Silver Series ammo – especially if you plan on putting large game in your sights.

This round’s 180 grain bullet isn’t unreasonably heavy, but it still qualifies as beefy for the 300 Win Mag. The massive projectile retains plenty of momentum, and it hits harder and penetrates more deeply as a result. Once the bullet achieves its advertised G1 ballistic coefficient of 0.438, it’s due to conserve over 1,500 ft lbs of kinetic energy until it passes the 525-yard line.

This cartridge’s bullet is a soft point (its jacket is made of conventional copper alloy, and is merely plated with a superficial layer of reflective metal). Once the bullet makes contact with the quarry’s hide, its soft lead tip and notched jacket rim set to work commencing lethal terminal expansion.
