This cartridge’s heavy 200 grain bullet is an open tip. Don’t mistake it for a hollow point – it will not expand during penetration, putting its terminal ballistics on par with a standard FMJ. The open tip’s uniformly distributed lead core does promote heightened in-flight stability, however, and its fully jacketed flat base reduces fouling by prohibiting hot propellant gasses from accessing its lead core.
