A spectacular round for large game hunting in moderate or short ranges, or as a home defense round. The Hornady Custom rounds are excellent for bolt guns where accuracy, reliability and performance are absolutely essential. This .300 AAC blackout is a faster moving, supersonic round, which gives it some added distance for hunting but also allows it to hit much harder than other .300AAC loads.
A very respectable 2,085 feet per second at the bore and 1300 ft. lbs. of energy gives you the added confidence in your 300 BLK ammo to take it long distance hunting or use in in a home defense setting, without worrying about degradation in terminal ballistics. Out of a bolt gun, this custom ammunition will offer exceptional accuracy and profound performance for a round that many overlook as a serious long distance cartridge.
Out of a semi-auto, this is still brutally efficient in either setting (home defense or hunting); and would easily be a contender for big game up to and including deer, depending on your state regulations. The 135 grain projectile is hard hitting enough to ensure quick dispatching of larger game and is devastating for smaller game. More versatility for a round that deserves to be introduced to more shooters.
