The 300 AAC Blackout caliber was created by Advanced Armament Corporation (AAC) in 2011 in part due to the ineffectiveness of the 5.56x45mm NATO at subsonic velocities. The 300 Blackout was designed to be an effective round with both supersonic and subsonic rounds. The flexibility of this caliber has resulted in it gaining wide adoption despite its very short history.
This particular 300 AAC Blackout load by Federal American Eagle is subsonic and features a 220 grain open tip match projectile. The round has muzzle velocity of 1000 feet per second and muzzle energy of 488 foot pounds. The open tip match projectile provides superior accuracy, and makes this round a top choice for anyone looking for highly accurate, subsonic 300 Blackout ammo.
