This cartridge is loaded with Hornady’s own Flex Tip eXpanding projectile. The 100 grain jacketed hollow point’s nose cavity contains a red polymer column. It acts like a plug of sorts, and stops debris such as clothing fibers from clogging up the nose cavity. The FTX thus reliably pierces barriers with its ability to yield wide, rapid and devastating terminal expansion intact. The FTX’s terminal ballistics are even more reliable thanks to its jacket, which protects the rim of the nose cavity from becoming too damaged to produce uniform terminal expansion.

Nickel-plated brass cases are pretty. More importantly, they are protected against corrosion and reduce metal-on-metal friction inside a semi-automatic handgun.
