The 30.06 cartridge is a military round with a specific designation code that means “.30” caliber, and that it was developed in put into service in 1906. It is one of the flattest shooting and most accurate rounds with an extremely long service record. It has been used in the famous Springfield 03-A3 rifles and the time tested, tough-as-nails M1 Garand rifle. These Winchester 30-06 loads are topped with mid-weight 180 grain copper jacketed lead core Power Point bullets that feature a soft point tip that ensures maximum expansion on impact. They also utilize brand new Winchester brass cases that are reloadable, thick walled, highly polished, and primed with non-corrosive Boxer primers. These high speed, hard hitting loads are capable of hunting wild boars, deer, and elk. With a muzzle velocity of 2700-feet per second and a muzzle energy of 2913-foot pounds, you can easily see why this is a favorite cartridge of hunters all over the world.
