This cartridge’s bullet is a pointed soft point. Its aerodynamic nose profile and drag-reducing boat tail work together to flatten the PSP’s trajectory, as well as increase the amount of kinetic energy the bullet transfers to its target throughout the 30-06’s entire effective range. Its 0.404 G1 ballistic coefficient means the 165 grain PSP overcomes air resistance effectively enough to rise 6.49” before reaching 300 yards, as well as retain 1,000 ft lbs of energy until it streaks to 579 yards. Its durable copper-alloy jacket provides the weight retention the PSP needs in order to enter deeply into its target. Its exposed lead tip supplies the wide deformation which kills medium and large game fast.
Fiocchi loads this cartridge with their own bullet, as well as their own brass case. The Italian manufacturer’s noncorrosive Boxer primer also makes this cartridge reloadable. Make your own 30-06 ammo – that’ll really show the haters!
