A great deer season stalwart, this is the Fusion line of deer specific ammunition by the team at Federal which offers a nearly perfect large deer round for season after season of success. This one of a handful of premium ammunition producers who are dabbling in the “deer specific” realm, and it’s paid off for Federal, because they are attentive to the needs of deer hunters everywhere and have designed the ammunition to actually take advantage of certain benefits for that type of game without getting out of hand with the price point. The skived tip and the boat tail design offer great expansion and true flight along with great weight retention thanks to the chemically applied jacket and lead makeup. This projectile flies very nicely thanks to the uniformity of manufacture.

The 180 grain weight may seem heavy for many deer species but for whitetail and other larger game, this is a great size and offers good weight retention and hitting power to ensure a clean humane kill without a ton of drama.
