This cartridge’s 85 grain projectile is its manufacturer’s proprietary Copper Extreme Point. It’s solid copper, with the exception of its unusually wide polymer tip, so it exhibits excellent gyroscopic stability. The Copper Extreme Point is also an extremely streamlined bullet, complete with a boat tail, so it retains momentum efficiently enough to reach 200 yards with 1,384 ft lbs of kinetic energy – more than one third the recommended minimum for whitetail.

The Copper Extreme Point cannot undergo core/jacket separation after impact, and it penetrates even more reliably thanks to the innate toughness of copper. Its broad tip only makes matters worse for the buck. It triggers cripplingly fast terminal expansion beginning exactly at the instant of impact, and continues on to gouge out an impressively wide wound channel.
