This cartridge’s 95 grain Core-Lokt Tipped bullet is match accurate. It hugs a super flat trajectory thanks not just to its sharp and ballistically efficient polymer tip, but also its optimized center of gravity, superlative jacket concentricity and sloping boat tail base. By Remington’s own measure, this round’s 0.355 G1 ballistic coefficient means its bullet will drop to only -6.4” 100 yards after clearing a 200-yard zero. At that range the bullet still retains over 1,400 ft lbs of energy, which is more than enough to ethically fell any American whitetail.
The Core-Lokt Tipped is also engineered for intensely reliable terminal expansion. On impact the big tip plows deeply into the precision-formed nose cavity in the bullet’s dense lead core. The bullet fans outward quickly yet evenly thanks to its tapered jacket. And while the Core-Lokt Tipped’s jacket may not be bonded, it is anchored firmly enough to its core to ensure deep enough penetration to deliver the clean and rewarding kill.
