This cartridge features Hornady’s MonoFlex, an all-copper bullet. Copper’s blessings aren’t limited to zero environmental impact and less barrel fouling. It’s also a hardy metal, which coupled with the MonoFlex’s lack of a core and jacket that could potentially separate guarantees that the bullet will penetrate deeply. Here’s a bullet that retains at least 95% of its weight!
The MonoFlex has a little trick up its sleeve called “elastomer.” This supple black substance fills the monolithic bullet’s nose cavity. On impact it compresses within the nose cavity, thus forcing the MonoFlex to blossom outward, carve out a wide wound channel, and exert its deadly energy in every direction around it.
Hornady sets their proprietary lead-free hunting and self-defense bullet in a straight and reloadable brass case, with the sensitive primer and powerful powder it needs to perform perform reliably.
