This 38 Special cartridge’s 125 grain bullet is not optimal for self-defense — its broader meplat will stamp a wide hole through any target, that’s true, but it’s far better suited for cleanly perforating targets to facilitate scoring than it is doubling over a threat to your safety. It’s also easier to load into a revolver’s cylinder than any wadcutter as well. This bullet’s full metal jacket prevents terminal expansion, but it’s excellent for its ability to preserve a pistol’s accuracy in the face of barrel leading!
