The .357 Sig round was a science project that turned out to have some real merit, in a field of science that had basically been stagnant until rounds like the .357 Sig kicked it off again in 1994. Since that time period, there have been several groundbreaking projects that utilize a similar architecture to the .357 Sig project. It also happens to be an incredible round for the purpose it serves, and has a reputation that stands alone. It’s continuously in production because it fills a legitimate need. This Fiocchi cartridge is an excellent way to keep in practice with your .357 Sig firearms.

The shortened, necked down 10mm case that accepts the 9mm (.355) projectile gives it the power and penetration that you couldn’t get in a compact round before. The pressure and recoil are elevated, but not unmanageable like many believe is the case with the 10mm. You get substantial velocity, energy dump and penetration in a mainstream cartridge size.

The Fiocchi .357 Sig FMJ is a proven reliable round that offers a very low practice cost for those who at one time were beholden to very expensive ammunition across the board. Fiocchi has managed to make a round that is closer to 9mm in cost to shoot, with performance that is closer to 10mm in ballistics. This is a great practice round, and while it has very solid performance numbers it’s not purpose-built for a defensive load, but could be used if needed.
