This 2-3/4” shell is packed with one even ounce of #6.5 shot – an unusual size, to be sure, which has 0.105” diameter pellets. These shot pellets are made of Winchester’s very own Xpert steel, which is quite naturally too rigid to flatten down under pressure and additionally treated to resist corrosion. Spherical and smooth shot pellets pattern tightly, and they hit extra hard once they have ripped out of the barrel at a rate of 1,325 fps.

This round’s wad takes care of two problems at once. It is designed to compress on ignition to help soften felt recoil, and it provides a thick enough barrier to prevent steel shot from putting nasty etches on the inside of your favorite scattergun’s barrel.
