The 10mm is a great cartridge for self-defense. While several calibers have loud and not altogether unreasonable detractors, you’d have to really go out on a limb if you want to argue that the 10mm isn’t capable of very quickly stopping someone from doing something awful to you. This 10mm cartridge by Fiocchi is from their Shooting Dynamics line of ammunition, and performs like their analogous Exacta load while costing substantially less.
This round has the self-defense load’s common jacketed hollow point projectile. The bullet’s rigid copper jacket promotes unproblematic feeding in a semi-automatic, and does a fine job ensuring both proper penetration and even expansion. The SAAMI spec cartridge has got the brass casing it needs to serve you well at your reloading station, and comes loaded with a non-corrosive Boxer primer and clean burning propellant.
