Even if it’s not a 1911, a 45 ACP pistol always makes a great choice for personal protection. But it’s got to have the right kind of ammo in its magazine – ammo like Browning X-Point Defense.

This cartridge’s signature feature is its unique X-Point jacketed hollow point bullet. True to its name, the X-Point’s nose cavity contains a slightly sunken X-shaped structure. This acts as a physical barrier to fabric and other debris during penetration, which preserves the nose cavity’s ability to trigger terminal expansion. The jacketed hollow point additionally features a smooth-feeding profile, as well as a notched rim that requires relatively little force to split open. The end result is a broad six-pointed star which inflicts substantial damage to soft tissue!
